Description
Stavropolskaya 21 is a new variety of soft winter wheat, developed using modern methods of classical and marker-assisted selection. This medium-early variety is characterized by high winter and frost hardiness, ensuring its successful cultivation in various climatic conditions. The variety features a strong, elastic stem, high resistance to lodging, as well as resistance to shattering and grain germination on the root, significantly improving yield quality and preservation.
Stavropolskaya 21 demonstrates high yield, which over three years of trials exceeded the standard variety Grom by 1.42 t/ha, reaching an average yield of 52.9 c/ha and a maximum of 84.3 c/ha. The variety possesses high field resistance to major diseases of winter wheat, such as brown rust, powdery mildew, loose smut, and yellow dwarf virus. Thanks to these qualities, as well as adaptability to agronomic and soil-climatic conditions, the variety is recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasus, Lower Volga, and Central Black Earth regions.
Additionally, Stavropolskaya 21 belongs to resource-saving cultivation technologies, demonstrating high energy efficiency and responsiveness to fertilizers and agronomic practices. The milling qualities of the variety are good, making it attractive for agricultural producers focused on obtaining high-quality grain. The variety was created using complex stepwise hybridization using hybrid lines of Stavropol and Krasnodar breeding, which ensures its competitiveness and resistance to adverse factors.
