Turi

Winter wheat variety Turi is a type of erythrospermum with an intensive type, registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2016. This variety is characterized by medium-early maturity and a vegetation period of 270-275 days. The stem height reaches 85-105 cm, and the ear length is 8.5-9.5 cm. The grain is egg-shaped, with a 1000-grain weight ranging from 40 to 45 g, and grain density reaching 790-810 g/l.

Turi has a high yield potential, capable of reaching 10-11 t/ha. The variety exhibits high winter hardiness and resistance to lodging, shattering, as well as to major diseases such as root rot, leaf septoria, fusarium, brown and yellow rust, powdery mildew, and smut. These characteristics make it a reliable choice for cultivation in the Polissia, forest-steppe, and steppe zones.

The quality of Turi wheat grain is highly valued due to its protein content (13.2-14%) and gluten content (29-30%), which ensures good baking properties with a score of 9 points and bread volume of 790-810 ml. The recommended seeding rate is 5.0-5.5 million germinating seeds per hectare, contributing to maximum yield and stable crops.
