Description
Tyumenskaya Yubileynaya is a soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety intended for cultivation in the West Siberian region, including the Omsk region and forest-steppe zones of the Tyumen region. The variety is medium-early, with a vegetation period of 76-84 days, ripening 1-2 days later than the Novosibirsk 31 variety. The plant is medium-height, with a semi-erect bush and weak straw structure. The head is pyramidal, of medium density, white in color with short awn-like appendages. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 32 to 39 grams. There is a medium waxy coating on the head and a very strong waxy coating on the sheath of the flag leaf and the upper internode of the straw. The grain is colored, of medium size, egg-shaped with a shallow groove.
The variety is characterized by good resistance to lodging (8-9 points) and shattering, as well as resistance to root rots, septoria, fusarium, brown rust, and powdery mildew at a level of 7-8 points. Drought resistance is at the level of the Novosibirsk 31 variety. However, the variety is susceptible to powdery bunt and stem rust. The yield of Tyumenskaya Yubileynaya is high: in the West Siberian region, the average yield is about 23.9 c/ha, in the Omsk region it reaches 25.2 c/ha, and in the forest-steppe zones of the Tyumen region up to 30.1 c/ha, which exceeds the indicators of standard varieties. The maximum yield recorded in the Novosibirsk region was 61.6 c/ha.
Studies have shown that sowing dates and sowing rates significantly affect yield and seed quality. At optimal sowing dates (May 5-10), seed yield reaches 2.52-2.69 t/ha, and at the second sowing date with sowing rates of 6.7-7.2 million grains per hectare, the maximum yield reaches 2.78-2.94 t/ha. Protein content, germination energy, and laboratory germination of seeds decrease with later sowing dates. The baking qualities of the variety are assessed as satisfactory, which makes Tyumenskaya Yubileynaya a suitable choice for agricultural production in the recommended regions.
