Description
Zagora Novosibirskaya is an early spring soft wheat variety developed through individual selection from a hybrid population, ensuring high grain quality comparable to strong wheat. The variety exhibits excellent technological and baking properties, making it particularly valuable for food use. It is resistant to lodging, drought, powdery mildew, and flag smut, significantly enhancing its reliability under various climatic conditions.
The variety was developed by scientists at the Siberian Scientific Research Institute of Plant Breeding (SibNIIRS), who created Zagora Novosibirskaya with adaptation to stress factors such as air wetting and frost in mind. Thanks to these qualities, the variety demonstrates high yield and stable gluten content, as confirmed by studies in the northern forest-steppe of the Tyumen region and other areas.
Zagora Novosibirskaya is distinguished by high flour strength and good dough fluidity, making it particularly attractive to the baking industry. The variety is included in the State Register of the Russian Federation and recommended for cultivation in the West Siberian, East Siberian, and Far Eastern regions, indicating its wide application and reliability in various agro-climatic zones.
