DON 107

DON 107 is a variety of soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) characterized by a medium-early maturity period and medium height. This variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness, drought resistance, and resistance to lodging, grain shattering, and pre-harvest sprouting. The mass of 1000 grains ranges from 37 to 45 grams, indicating good grain quality. The variety belongs to the 'lutescens' group and is recommended for cultivation in the Rostov region, Volgograd region, Republic of Adygea, and Donetsk region, as well as suitable for sowing on light and medium soils. DON 107 demonstrates stable and high yields in various soil and climatic zones. The average yield in the North Caucasus region reaches 46.5–51.2 c/ha, and in the Lower Volga region – about 28.5 c/ha. The variety possesses good baking qualities, making it in demand for flour and bread production. The protein content in the grain ranges from 13.3 to 15.5%, and gluten – from 24.1 to 30.3%, ensuring high quality of the final product. The variety is resistant to brown rust and Fusarium head blight, and moderately resistant to common bunt and powdery mildew.
