Moskvich

Soft winter wheat of the Moskvid variety is a mid-early and mid-height variety with plant height of 95-100 cm, possessing high resistance to lodging. The grain has an egg-shaped shape, medium size, and red color. The mass of 1000 grains ranges from 35 to 47 grams. The variety was obtained through intraspecific hybridization and twice individual selection from the hybrid population Luty.2621h24-82/Olympia 2, which ensures its high productivity and adaptability to the climatic conditions of the North Caucasus region, in particular the Krasnodar and Stavropol krais.

Moskvid is distinguished by a high yield potential, which on average over three years exceeded the indicators of standard varieties by 3.5-4.5 centners per hectare. It has good baking and milling qualities, which makes it valuable for the production of quality flour and baked goods. The variety is resistant to a number of diseases: highly resistant to powdery bunt, flying smut, and Fusarium head blight; resistant to brown and yellow rust, and moderately resistant to powdery mildew, septoria, stem rust, and hard smut.

Furthermore, the Moskvid variety is distinguished by high frost hardiness, comparable with the Zimerodok variety, and good drought resistance, which allows for successful cultivation in conditions of a variable climate. Thanks to these qualities and stable yield, the variety is recommended for widespread use in agricultural production of the North Caucasus region.
