Calipso

Sweet pepper variety Calipso is an early-maturing type, intended for cultivation in unheated greenhouses, low tunnels, and outdoors. Plants of this variety are low-growing, bushy, reaching a height of 50-55 cm, and produce 14-18 rectangular or cube-shaped fruits with a slightly ribbed structure. The fruits are smooth, evenly shaped, three- to four-chambered, with a smooth surface, making them attractive to consumers and convenient for culinary use.

Fruit size is quite large: length is 8-9 cm, width 7-8 cm, and weight varies from 140 to 180 g depending on the stage of ripeness. Fruit wall thickness is 6-8 mm, ensuring juiciness and fleshiness. In technical ripeness, fruits have a yellowish-white hue, while in biological ripeness, they turn bright lemon-yellow. Harvesting occurs 70-75 days after transplanting seedlings to their permanent location, allowing for an early and abundant yield.

Calipso variety is distinguished by high nutritional value: fruits are rich in vitamin C, beta-carotene, as well as minerals such as calcium, potassium, phosphorus, and magnesium. Consuming this pepper helps lower blood pressure, boosts immunity, and is an important part of cancer prevention due to its lycopene content.
