Description
Hulk pepper fruits have a cube-like shape with four chambers, are uniform in appearance, and have an attractive market presentation. In technical ripeness, they are dark green, and in biological ripeness, they turn a deep red. Fruit weight ranges from 250 to 350 grams, length is 8-10 cm, and diameter is about 9-10 cm. The thick, juicy wall (8-10 mm thick) gives the fruits a crisp texture and sweet flavor with a pleasant aroma. Due to these qualities, the harvest is widely used fresh, as well as suitable for stuffing, baking, freezing, and canning.
For successful cultivation, seedlings should be sown in late February to early March, with transplanting at the 1-2 true leaf stage. Transplanting to the final location should be done with 60-65-day-old seedlings, planted at a 50x40 cm spacing, with mandatory support, as plants tend to collapse under fruit load. Timely watering, regular weeding, loosening, and mineral fertilizer feeding are necessary to ensure good growth and abundant fruiting. Planting density is 45-50 thousand plants per hectare, which contributes to high yield — up to 10-12 fruits per plant.
