MAGRETTA pepper is an early-maturing, high-yielding hybrid of sweet pepper type 'Lасточка', distinguished by its resistance to stressful conditions, including heat and drought. The ripening period is 58-62 days from transplanting seedlings, allowing for a quick harvest. The plant is compact, medium-height with medium-sized leaves and slight wrinkling, possessing strong growth and disease resistance, including resistance to tobacco mosaic virus.
MAGRETTA fruits are conical, light green in technical ripeness and deep red at biological maturity. They have a smooth, fine-ridged, glossy surface, wall thickness of 6-8 mm, weight ranging from 110 to 180 grams, and length of 12-14 cm with diameter of 6-8 cm. The fruits are very uniform, heavy, and tasty, making them attractive for marketing both in technical and biological ripeness.
The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in open ground, plastic greenhouses, and tunnels, suitable for early spring sowing and extended crop rotation. Marketable yield in open ground of southern regions reaches 2.3 kg per square meter, while under plastic cover — up to 17 kg per square meter.
