SUNDOCHOK

Sweet pepper variety 'Sunduchok' is a mid-early, high-yielding variety, well-suited for cultivation both in open ground and under plastic coverings. The plant is determinate, bushy, compact, reaching a height of 60 to 90 cm, with a strong bush capable of bearing significant fruit load. For optimal growth, staking is recommended, as the plants may be pulled out of the soil under the weight of the fruit. Pruning is minimal — only the 'top' flower needs to be removed.

Fruits of the 'Sunduchok' variety have a characteristic flat-round or conical shape with a blunt tip and distinctly visible lobes, resembling miniature pumpkins or pouches, which is where the variety's name originated. Fruit weight varies from 100 to 180 grams, with wall thickness of 5–10 mm. In technical maturity, the fruits are dark green, and upon full ripening, they turn a deep red with a cherry-like waxy coating. The flesh is dense, juicy, tender, with a classic, very pleasant flavor and delicate spicy aroma, occasionally with a barely noticeable hint of heat. The skin is thin but tough.

The 'Sunduchok' variety is versatile in use: it is ideal for stuffing due to the shape and density of the fruits, looks great when sliced, is excellent for fresh consumption, salad preparation, and various types of preservation, including relishes and vegetable preserves.
